The Company

The neutrality of the conductor

A cable's job is to carry the audio signal between two components. The sonic character of your electronics and the musical message held on the source — record, tape, file — therefore depend on the neutrality of the conductor.

Cables do not replace your electronics: they merely lay bare everything those components are. GC Audio cables do nothing but transmit the sonic character of the equipment they connect.

The cable, insulated in Teflon, is assembled by hand without solder. An obsessive attention to structural balance, to flawless shielding, to the exact inductive-capacitive factor and to the choice of materials results in a product, The Cable, with virtually no sonic signature of its own.

The aim of GC Audio cables is to add nothing to and subtract nothing from the electro-musical signal. The natural colours of acoustic instruments remain the reference throughout our research. To technical expertise we add something less common: constant listening to live music. To reach the ease and emotion of a live performance, the audio signal must pass through intact in every detail.

No solder

Every termination is mechanical: no solder material added, no colouration introduced.

Teflon insulation

Military-specification solid core conductors, treated and wrapped in a thick layer of Teflon.

GC Audio geometry

Structural balance, shielding and inductive-capacitive factor calculated for every model.

Hand assembly

For a hi-end system to convey emotion, it must reveal every piece of information held on the source. Achieving that depends on connecting the components in perfect synergy with one another.

Analogue Cables

The heart of the range. Military-specification solid core conductors built from layered treated metals, copper and silver among them, almost 0.9 mm in diameter, insulated in Teflon. Three levels, three degrees of transparency.

The Cable level I

The first step in the GC Audio range. It uses two conductors of military-specification solid core. The cable is semi-balanced, terminated with rhodium-plated Furutech RCA connectors mod. FT 111 or with XLR connectors of equivalent quality, without solder.

From the first notes you immediately notice the frequency extension, the detail, the correct tonal balance and the naturalness of the musical message.

The Cable level II

The second step. It uses four conductors of military-specification solid core. Semi-balanced, terminated with rhodium-plated Furutech RCA connectors mod. FP 106 or with Xhadow Precision XLR, without solder.

It sets itself apart from the entry level through greater naturalness and presence of the musical message. The artificiality of the audio system dissolves and the sonic event materialises in the listening room — especially with good few-microphone recordings.

The Cable level III

The top of the range. It uses six conductors of military-specification solid core. Semi-balanced, terminated with rhodium-plated Furutech RCA connectors mod. FP 106 without solder, or with rhodium-plated Furutech 601 and 602.

Extraordinary naturalness and realism make this conductor an absolute reference.

Loudspeakers

Speaker Cables

Four levels differing in the number of solid core conductors used. Furutech FP 201R or Oyaide SPSL spade terminations, banana plugs as an alternative, always without solder.

  • P-level I — ten military-specification solid core conductors
  • P-level II — twelve military-specification solid core conductors
  • P-level III — fourteen military-specification solid core conductors
  • P-level IV — sixteen military-specification solid core conductors

Shared construction

The solid core wire is made from layered treated metals, copper and silver among them, almost 0.9 mm in diameter, insulated in Teflon. Assembled to GC Audio geometry, the cable is terminated without solder using Furutech FP 201R or Oyaide SPSL spades, or with banana plugs.

Powercord

Power Cables

Multi-strand pure copper conductors of 0.5 mm, individually insulated, assembled to GC Audio geometry and terminated without solder. Levels II and III are now in the MK II version, with new geometry and new connectors.

The Cable powercord — level I

Uses 12 multi-strand conductors, individually insulated, in 0.5 mm pure copper. Assembled to GC Audio geometry, terminated without solder using connectors machined from solid, purest copper.

The Cable powercord — level II MK II

Uses 16 multi-strand conductors, individually insulated, in 0.5 mm pure copper. Redesigned cable geometry and new SCHUKO and IEC plugs: greater articulation and transparency of the signal.

The Cable powercord — level III MK II

Uses 24 multi-strand conductors, individually insulated, in 0.5 mm pure copper. Terminated without solder using connectors with bodies milled from solid aluminium and pins in the purest copper, silver-plated with a rhodium finish.

The result is a cable of exceptional transparency and extraordinary detail, thanks to phenomenal control of the lower end of the frequency spectrum.

Mains

Mains Distributor

Made from 10 mm thick aerospace aluminium. Rigidity and lightness together, for an excellent balance of definition, tonal colour and dynamics. No mains filter, no solder.

  • Structure — aerospace aluminium, 10 mm thick on each face
  • Models — production covers 3 models, differing in the number of sockets
  • Sockets — Vimar universal, with reworked internal contacts: improved rigidity and optimised profile
  • IEC inlet — solid non-magnetic copper, with screw connection for the cable
  • Internal wiring — pure solid core copper over 2.5 mm in diameter, enough to feed any component
  • Philosophy — the entire connection is made without solder and without mains filters

Mark 2 version

The mains distributors now carry a new internal "superconductor" that takes technical performance to the highest level.

Phono / Turntable

Tonearm Cable

The extraordinary but delicate quality of the musical message produced by fine cartridges demands even more careful and neutral handling than a "normal" audio signal: any compromise is magnified by the gain of the phono stage.

  • Conductors — silver-plated military-specification solid core, sized specifically for optimal performance at low signal levels
  • Shielding — provides the best possible protection from external interference
  • Tonearm end — DIN connector mod. TAD 1877
  • Phono end — rhodium-plated Furutech RCA connectors mod. FT 111
  • Assembly — solder-free, to avoid colouration caused by adding further solder material

S/PDIF

Digital Cable

After years of studying signal handling we concluded that it is preferable to carry the digital signal using the same technology used for the analogue signal. The objective: eliminating jitter.

The Cable D

Uses military-specification solid core conductors made from layered metals including copper and silver, almost 0.9 mm in diameter, insulated in Teflon.

The cable is terminated with rhodium-plated Furutech RCA connectors mod. FP 106 (or FP 108) without solder, to avoid colouration caused by adding further solder material.

Approach

Concentrating on eliminating jitter, so as to offer the same simplicity of connection found in an integrated digital player.

New geometries and new connectors: the MK II series arrives

The upgrades made to the power cables and mains distributors go well beyond a simple restyling: changes to the cable geometry, together with new connectors on the two most important power cables in the GC Audio range, have produced significant sonic improvements.

The Cable Level II MK II

This brand-new cable replaces The Cable Level II. It differs through the adoption of the new SCHUKO and IEC plugs and benefits from a redesigned cable geometry. The result: greater articulation and transparency of the signal.

The Cable Level III MK II

It takes the place of The Cable Level III. Besides the redesign of the cable, 2 further internal conductors have been added for a total of 24 wires. The new model also adopts the new SCHUKO and IEC connectors with bodies milled from solid aluminium and pure copper pins, silver-plated with a rhodium finish.

The result is a cable of exceptional transparency, hard to better: of extraordinary detail, thanks to phenomenal control of the lower end of the frequency spectrum. What follows is listening of a disarming naturalness, with the signal freed of the strain usually heard at the frequency extremes.

Mains distributor, Mark 2

A further step forward has also been taken with the mains distributors, now fitted with a sensational new internal "superconductor" that takes technical performance to the highest level.

Upgrades for GC Audio customers. Owners of previous models — both cables and mains distributors — can request the Mark 2 upgrade by paying only the list price difference between the two products, plus any shipping costs.
